  1
What is a Naturopathic Doctor?

A naturopathic doctor (ND) is a physician who attends one of several medical schools that specialize in natural and preventative medicine. They learn the same basic sciences as medical doctors but treatments focus more on nutrition, herbal therapies, lifestyle changes, and other natural remedies.  They believe in a set of principles including "Treat the Whole Person", "Find the Underlying Cause", "The Healing Power of Nature", "Doctor as Teacher", "First do no Harm", and "Prevention".

How Much Do Visits Cost?

Visit prices vary depending on the type of visit and therapy.  We work with our patients to make sure that treatments fit into not only their lifestyle, but their budget, as well.  We do not offer sliding scale, however, and payment is due at time of service (except for payment plans or direct insurance billing).  For more details visit our pricing page.

What if I need Labs, Imaging, or a Prescription?

Naturopathy is a fusion of ancient wisdom and modern technology.  Laboratory testing and diagnostic imaging (x-rays, MRI, etc) are all able to be ordered through our clinic.

Naturopaths in the state of Hawaii are able to write prescriptions all most non-controlled substances.  They are not able to prescribe medical marijuana or other controlled substances.

  7
Are Naturopathy and Homeopathy the Same?

No.  Naturopathy is a field of study based on the principles of naturopathic medicine (see above).  Naturopathic physicians have a wide variety of therapies they use, which may or may not include homeopathy.  Homeopathy is an energetic medicine using dilute amounts of a substance to elicit the body's innate healing mechanism.
